Celebrating 116 Birthday of Rotary

On February 23, 2021 was Rotary’s 116th Birthday. That day is also called World Understanding and Peace Day. On February 23, 1905, Paul Harris and his three friends surely did not realize what they were starting when they met in room 711 of the Unity Building in Chicago. That was the beginning of the Rotary Movement. Since then, we have come a long way in the direction of achieving goodwill, peace, and understanding among all people of the world.

rd This year on February 23 , RCB joined the celebration of this special day along with the District, led by DG Rtn. B L Nagendra Prasad. We gathered at RHF for a High Tea before proceeding to the Paul Harris Circle to pay respects to the Founder of Rotary by garlanding his bust at Lavelle Road. The members then walked all the way to Samsung Opera Centre for a Multi Club Joint Meeting. The public gathering and the meeting were addressed amongst others by the Additional Commissioner of Police, Dr. B. R. Ravikanthe Gowda, IPS.
