Description
This wistful charcoal piece is now looking for its next home.
The clouds feel like smurfs in the sky or thick froth on a perfect South Indian cappuccino ☕️
Inspired by Van Gogh’s emotional brushwork, the delicate discipline of Japanese ink paintings, misty Chikmagalur mornings, and my love for raw pencil sketches, An Evening with Lady Day is a quiet, surreal reflection.
This artwork was super cathartic. Charcoal pencil on canvas but the charcoal was not charcoaling, so it gave this super cool pencil sketch effect!! I had to scrape so much. There was a weird void, but also a content, calm, appreciative, and surreal feeling.
I’ve fallen in love with this artwork but I’m ready to part with it 🌸
