Illume is an exploration of light and its profound impact on our
perceptions and emotions. In this piece, I sought to capture the essence
of illumination—not just in the physical sense, but as a metaphor for clarity, hope, and enlightenment. The interplay of vibrant colors and
contrasting shadows represents the journey from darkness to light, symbolizing the moments of insight that guide us through life’s complexities.
When I visit villages along riverbanks or sea shores, I observe the concentration of a fisherman in his daily routine with fishing, fish, and boat. They work hard, yet find joy in it. An essence I wanted to capture with earth colors on paper.
A contemplative Buddha emerges from flowing patterns, each stroke a whisper of stillness. Golden lotuses blaze like fragments of the sun, offering renewal and awakening. Geometry and texture unite in a meditative rhythm, where sacred calm meets vibrant life, inviting the viewer into a timeless sanctuary of peace.

This diptych portrays the Shivalingam tree with its divine brightly coloured flowers. These flowers with its unique design have always fascinated me and I wanted to capture the beauty of this unusual tree in all its splendour. The canvas is very textured and is full of light , colours and joy.
