I invite the viewer to \u2018walk into\u2019 my canvas \u2013 into my calm make-believe world. \r\nMy paintings of temple interiors,ancestral homes , busy streets , fields, steps, seascapes , forts etc is a step forward in this journey of space and depth sometimes combined with an element of dreams and fantasy.  \r\nThe eye explores the hidden nooks and corners of temple halls, rows of carved pillars, ancient doorways, deep shaded forests, magnificent palaces and majestic forts , lush fields receding into the distance. \r\n \r\nTextures as well as light and shadow continue to be integral to my works. \r\nI use mainly the palette knife to create varying textures. Several coats of paint highlight different surfaces adding to the depth of the painting. \r\n \r\nI use the play of light to heighten the feeling of perspective and breathe life into my works. \r\n \r\nThe colours I use are bright and happy \u2013 I create moods which are upbeat. There are suggestions of joyous occasions and festive moods \u2013 reds and oranges in the sun paintings, women dressed in colourful finery carrying flowers or children playing and darting between pillars or hiding in doorways,flowers blooming in bright happy colours. \r\n \r\n \r\nIt is my world of perspective beauty, textures, light, shadows, bright colours and joy. It is a world of fun, festivity and calm. It may seem surreal but that is what I hope to invoke through my paintings.
