S.Viswanathan joined the Rotary Club of Bangalore in 2017. He has officiated as the Co- Chair and Chair of the Vocational Services Committee for the last 2 years. During his tenure at the Vocational Services Committee, he had launched a program for funding meritorious candidates from economically backward strata to complete their B.Ed course. The program has been successfully implemented and it has benefitted over 200 students in the last 2 years. The project was well received and he was awarded the “Star Rotarian” award by the District.
Viswanathan did his graduation from Loyola College, Chennai. He is a Company Secretary, Cost Accountant and an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He is a career banker having worked in Banks and Financial Institutions for almost 4 decades. He has had a distinguished career having served in senior positions in Private sector and Foreign Banks. He had headed several business verticals/functions like Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Private Banking, Cash Management Solutions, Risk Management and Compliance. He has also served in committees constituted by RBI and CII.
Currently, Viswanathan is an adviser to Angel funds and Hedge funds. He also sits on the Board of Companies as an Independent director and heads Board committees like Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee etc. He also imparts training for senior bankers in foreign banks in the area of Risk and Compliance.
Viswanathan is married to Radhika, a M.A, M.Phil and who was teaching senior classes in ICSE schools. His daughter Shruthi is a Lawyer cum Developmental economist and works for a US based Global Consultancy firm. His son Badrinath is a Chartered Accountant and works for one of the Big 4 CA firms.
Viswanathan’s other interests include travelling and solving crossword puzzles. He is also an avid golfer and bridge player.
As Director of Vocational Services, Viswanathan intends to conceive and implement projects that will improve the skill sets of youth and make them employment ready /help them in starting business ventures on their own.
