Rtn. Dr. Sangamitra Gopal

Dr Sangamithra Gopal joined Rotary Club of Bangalore 20 years ago. She is a Gynaecologist by profession with a Master’s degree and had been practicing for 34 years as Consultant Gynaecologist in various hospitals in Bangalore. She had been chosen as one of the inspiring Gynaecologists of South India by Healthworld.

Held the position of chair and co-chair in Community Service for five years. During this period she had conducted Adolescent Education programmes for girls in various schools. Many medical camps were also held benefiting the underprivileged people. Programmes in senior citizen homes and orphanages were done.

In the year 2018, she participated in the Record event of largest female health awareness lesson having 801 participants to achieve GUINNESS WORLD RECORD with Rotary Club of Bangalore.

She was also a contributing member to set a record in ASIA BOOK OF RECORDS for the participation of Maximum people in Diabetes screening camp at Multiple venues in one day in 2021.

Sangamithra is married to T Gopal, an Automobile Engineer and a Lion member. Her first daugther Varshini, an engineering graduate, married to Ashwin lives in U S with two sons. Her second daughter Predhikshini, a law graduate married to Gautham, lives in Bangalore with her daughter.

Sangamithra likes travel, farming and bridge game.
