PP Rtn. Sanjay Udani

PP Rtn. Sanjay Udani was President of the Club in the Year 2022-23. He is a full-blooded Bangalorean… born, educated and running his thriving business in this bustling new-age Indian metropolis. As a managing partner of Udani Opticians – a retail optical chain and eyewear boutique since 1930 – Sanjay has an eye for cool eyewear. He is also a Founder Trustee of Legacy School, an internationally acclaimed new generation educational institution on Hennur Road.

As a second-generation Rotarian, Sanjay has served on various committees, including Vocational Service and Community Service, where he chaired the Youth Service Committee and the Fellowship Committee. He has also served as Sergeant at Arms.

He has been actively involved in various service organisations. He began his long stint with community service as a Leo from the Leo Club of Bangalore Host, in 1979. Since then, he has been involved in a variety of service activities in various capacities, eventually becoming the club’s President and Leo Advisor. His involvement with the Bangalore Host Lions Club dates back to 1987. Since then, he has served in a variety of positions, including secretary and president. He continues to serve on the club’s board of directors. Sanjay has also been actively involved with Bangalore Round Table 7 and 41ers Club No. 89, serving as president of both clubs.

Sanjay is a people person and loves to party. He is married to Krishna who is actively involved with the Legacy School as a Board Member and Facilities Director. His family is completed by Nidhi, their elder daughter – an Electronics & Communications Engineer, now Director of Operations at Legacy School, and younger twins Udit, an Industrial Management Engineer, currently working as Operations Manager at Legacy Global Projects Pvt. Ltd. and Urvi, a freelance architect.
