Rtn. Deepak Nakra

Rtn. Deepak Nakra joined Rotary Club in 2007 and has since chaired and co-chaired various committees such as Community Services, Youth Services and International Services. He was the Director – Community Services in 2018-2019, a Rotary year that saw 45 anganwadis transformed into happy anganwadis, among other projects.

Deepak is the promoter and managing director of Trivium eSolutions Private Limited, a software company based in Bangalore with a subsidiary in Munich, Germany. Trivium partners with some of the leading organisations in Europe to help them design and develop their critical software products in the areas of Industry 4.0.

Deepak completed his BSc. in Physics with Honours from St. Stephens College, Delhi and then switched to Computer Science and completed his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg, Germany. He returned to India after spending ten years in Germany, during which time he also worked in the IT field.

He has been living in Bangalore since 1991 with his wife, Dr Margret Nakra, who has taught at a pharmacy college and worked as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry. She is now very actively involved in an NGO, Viveka Center for Emotional Support, which provides free and confidential counselling to people facing difficulties in life.

Deepak and Margret have two grown-up children. Their son Nikhil lives in Munich and runs Trivium’s Germany office and their daughter Maya is a special educator for children with learning difficulties.

Deepak has travelled extensively around the world. He is very passionate about running his company in an ethical and professional manner, nurturing employees to become successful technology professionals as well as good citizens by encouraging them to actively participate in the company’s CSR activities, especially in the area of literacy. Margret and Deepak have a small farm in Coorg where they practise organic farming as a hobby.
