Rtn. Vineetha Chinappa

Rtn. Vineetha Chinappa joined Rotary Club of Bangalore in March 2013. Since her induction to the Rotary Club of Bangalore, she has served as co-chair, chair, and director of the International Service Committee, chair of the Vocational Services Committee, and Club Secretary before being nominated as the 2024-25 Vice President of the Rotary Club of Bangalore.

As chairperson of Vocational Services, her committee achieved many firsts.

Under her leadership as director of international service, the Rotary Club of Bangalore

  • Worked with the Rotary Club of Thimphu on a project in Bhutan, sponsoring water filters and storage tanks for schoolchildren to have safe, filtered water to drink.
  • Sponsored a sanitary pad unit with an incinerator for a school in Bhutan through the Rotary Club of Thimphu.
  • Conducted a bicycle tour in Sri Lanka to raise awareness of girls’ education.
  • Funded the repair and rebuilding of a school damaged by cyclones and floods in Galle, Sri Lanka.
  • Spearheaded a successful major fundraiser, Swan Lake, to benefit Rotary Bangalore Vidyalaya.
  • Spearheaded another major fundraiser, Toccata – a musical, in aid of Rotary Bangalore Vidyalaya.

 

During her term as Director of International Services 2017-18, the Rotary Club of Bangalore won the Platinum Award for the best work done under the avenue of International Service and made a significant contribution to the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Club of Bangalore also received the Best Club Award for overall excellence.

During her term as Club Secretary in 2019-20, she received the Best Club Secretary award from District 3190.

As a Rotarian, Vineetha has been active in Kala for Vidya, an initiative that combines a passion for art with a desire to educate the underprivileged.

She has been instrumental in establishing sister club relationships with Sri Lanka, Petlinjaya, and the Philippines. She also coordinated meetings with several Rotary clubs in Yangon, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

She has also been active in the Rotary District, serving in various positions over the past few years.

Educated in various parts of the country, she holds a B.A. in English Literature from Stella Maris, University of Madras, and a PGDMA in Management and Advertising.

Vineetha Chinappa is a holiday planner and the founder of Equinox Unearth, a bespoke holiday experience planning team established in 2006. Equinox Unearth designs holidays to suit your style – corporate and leisure.

She has also been part of an advertising company for over two decades – Renaissance Advertising, a fully accredited agency known for its creative work in print and media.

Her hobby and passion is traveling, the less traveled path.

She has a son, Rajat Bopaiah, who is a lawyer and a partner at ALMT Legal, a full-service law firm. Seema Sukumar, her daughter-in-law, is also a lawyer and Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel, Diageo, India.
