INDEPENDENCE DAY AT RBV

As has become our tradition in recent years, the 78th Independence Day Celebration of RCB started with an early morning visit by Rotarians, led by President Gowri, to our school – Rotary Bangalore Vidyalaya.

This year, we had Brigadier B G Jagadeesh (retd) grace the event as the Chief Guest and hoist our national flag at 8.10AM, to the chanting of our national anthem by RBV students.

We had experienced NCC cadets from Christ College lead the March Past with their rhythmic and well controlled steps and in their official attire with guns and the elan – oh it was a spectacle to behold!

This is a precursor to starting NCC in RBV to imbibe the culture, values and discipline of NCC to make our students better equipped for their future. This is a cause our President Rtn Gowri is very passionate about and would like included in the school’s curriculum.

This was followed by prize distribution where children who won prizes at District level sports events were felicitated.

Children who won other prizes in the school competitions were given story books, sponsored by Rtn. Sandhya Kunjur and other Rotarians. These were followed by wonderful cultural programmes put
together by the students.
