Knowledge Beyond Just Studying

On 20th August 2024, I got to attend a very important and relevant subject for many young girls, women and boys.

The ShieldHer/KanyaKavach – United Against Cervical Cancer”: a combined mission of Rotary Club Bangalore and The Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India, Karnataka State Chapter (KSC-AGOI) an ongoing program conducted by our very own Rtn Nita Roy, helps create an awareness on cervical and other cancers which affect women.

Held at St Anne’s High School, Millers Road, Bengaluru, for a total of 765 beneficiaries comprising 745 girls it was Nita Roy’s 21st (!) such session! It was completely captivating, with girls even taking notes on the subject. It was impressive to see the questions asked by these girls which were relevant and to the point. The maturity of understanding was excellent.
Thanks to Dr Vidyamani (Senior Consultant, OBGYN Dept, Sagar Chandramma Hospital) for a very informative & interactive session. The young girls pledged to have themselves vaccinated soon and to convey the importance of screening using Pap/HPV DNA tests to their mothers & other women in their families.

Our thanks to Sister Sharlet (Principal) and staff of the and support in coordinating this energizing session.
