The New Year Begins with Baba’s Blessings

The first Sunday of January every year sees the Sai Spiritual Centre at Basavangudi decked up beautifully like a bride to welcome devotees from the Rotary Club of Bangalore and the Rotary Club of Indiranagar. This special Darshan at the Mandir is an annual event organised by its chief trustee, Rtn. Srichand Rajpal and his family. It is a truly wonderful service he renders to his friends year after year.
This year was no different. The packed hall was transported to a different level of divinity, as Rtn. Narsi and Divya Raghavan, two of Bangalore’s most popular and eminent singers, sang soul-stirring bhajans, invoking the blessings of Baba. We sang along, clapped to the beat, and completely lost ourselves in the beauty of the moment!
What was especially touching was hearing our District Governor, Rtn.
Elizabeth Cherian speaks about her connection with Baba right from her college days – she said she always carries a small picture of Him in her handbag, and that over the years, He has held her hand and guided her through many difficult situations.
Another Muslim gentleman comes year after year to the Mandir, just to hear the soulful bhajans…

Do we need any further proof that Baba unites humanity as one?
As always, when Srichand Ji talks about how large donations come from completely unexpected sources, or how someone buys Baba calendars worth many lakhs and sends them to every corner of the world, we realise the incredible reach Baba has across nations. The morning ended with the divine Aarti, followed by a sumptuous Prasadam lunch.
And as always, Srichand Ji personally gifted each one of us a bag with the New Year calendar and some delicious Mysore Pak!
l, for one, firmly believe that beginning the New Year with Baba’s Darshan and His blessings will help the entire year go well for each one of our families and us…Tathastu…From my lips to Baba’s ears…
