PRERANA – A New Space for Learning, Community and Opportunity
The PRERANA Auditorium at RBV is a state-of-the-art facility with a seating capacity of 350, equipped with top-end audio systems, comfortable seating, a podium, a stage, a six-passenger lift, and a grand separate entrance.
This valuable addition will greatly benefit the 500+ students studying at the school by providing a dedicated venue for academic, cultural, and developmental activities.
In keeping with our commitment to community service, the auditorium will also be made available to nearby budget schools, enabling them to conduct educational and extracurricular programmes in a professional setting.
The facility offers multiple possibilities beyond the school. It can serve as a venue for Rotary meetings during the construction of the new Rotary House of Friendship, be utilized by corporates and educational institutions in the vicinity, and function as an examination centre. It also has the potential to generate additional revenue for the school, supporting its long-term sustainability.
The total project cost is ₹57 lakhs. We are grateful to Stanley for their generous CSR support of ₹45 lakhs, which made this project possible.
Our sincere thanks to the Task Force for their valuable inputs and guidance throughout the project. A special note of appreciation to Past President Rtn. Ranga Rao for his vision, ideas, and efforts in convincing Stanley to support this initiative, and to the Past President Rtn. Gowri for introducing Stanley to RCB and helping lay the foundation for this partnership.
Together, we are creating a facility that will inspire learning, strengthen community engagement, and serve generations to come.

Natanotsava 2026 – Celebrating Young Talent and Cultural Heritage
The Rotary Club of Bangalore successfully hosted the 9th Edition of Natanotsava, its flagship Youth Service initiative, on 15th June 2025, dedicated to promoting Indian Classical Dance and providing a platform for young artists to showcase their talent.
Held at the Rotary House of Friendship, the festival featured 140 talented dancers presenting 65 performances across various Indian classical dance forms. The event was a vibrant celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage, reflecting the dedication, discipline, and artistry of the participating performers.
Natanotsava was envisioned by Rtn. Ranga Rao, whose continued support as the event’s principal sponsor has helped the festival grow into one of the club’s most cherished cultural initiatives.
The festival witnessed an impressive footfall of over 500 attendees, including participants, gurus, parents, family members, friends, Rotarians, Rotaractors, art enthusiasts, and well-wishers. Their enthusiastic presence created an atmosphere of appreciation, encouragement, and celebration throughout the day.
More than a dance festival, Natanotsava continues to serve as a platform that nurtures young talent, preserves India’s classical traditions, and strengthens community engagement through culture and the arts. The overwhelming response and success of this year’s edition reaffirm Natanotsava’s place as a significant cultural platform and a proud Youth Service legacy of the Rotary Club of Bangalore.

Donation of Sewing Machines – Empowering Women Through Vocational Training
The Rotary Bangalore Vidyalaya (RBV) Vocational Training Centre continues to play a significant role in empowering women through skill development and livelihood enhancement. During the year, 25 women, predominantly mothers of students studying at RBV, successfully completed the tailoring and vocational training programme.
The participants completed their training with distinction, acquiring valuable skills that can help them achieve financial independence.
Recognizing the transformative impact of vocational education, the Vocational Service Committee extended its support through the “Share a Smile” Sewing Machine Donation Project. As part of this initiative, 15 deserving graduates who had successfully completed the course were presented with sewing machines.
This support will enable the beneficiaries to put their newly acquired skills into practice, create income-generating opportunities, and contribute to the economic well-being of their families.

ShieldHer at Biocon: Real Stories, Real Impact
The 63rd session of ShieldHer: United Against Cervical Cancer was conducted at Biocon Limited, Bengaluru, on June 9, 2026, engaging 65 participants from various departments across the organization through both in-person and virtual
participation. The session featured Dr. Vidyamani Lingegowda, Senior Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Sagar Chandramma Hospitals, who spoke on HPV vaccination, cervical cancer screening, and the importance of early detection.
What made the session especially impactful were the personal experiences shared by participants. A particularly moving story came from a participant whose mother had undergone chemotherapy and radiation for cervical cancer at a young age, reinforcing the importance of prevention and timely screening.
The session fostered meaningful conversations around HPV awareness and preventive healthcare, leaving a lasting impact across Biocon’s diverse workforce.

StrongHer
StrongHer Project #15 was conducted at JES School, Nagarbhavi for 70 girls, as an initiative of the Rotary District and the community services, Rotary Club of Bangalore.
The program has had a visible impact on the school girls who participate. At the beginning of the session, many girls appeared shy, hesitant, and reluctant to speak up. By the end, through interactive discussions, there was a noticeable change in their body language, confidence, and willingness to express themselves. Through concepts of self-awareness, personal safety, boundaries, personal space, and the importance of using their voice, the girls gained a better understanding of their rights and self-worth. Many left the session feeling more empowered, informed, and confident in recognizing unsafe situations, setting healthy boundaries, and making choices that protect their well-being and future.
The skills and awareness gained through StrongHer also helps girls develop confidence in their decision-making, build healthier relationships, and communicate more effectively in their education, careers, leadership roles, and everyday interactions. Empowered girls are better equipped to face challenges with resilience, make informed choices, and contribute positively to their families, communities, and society.
The session was opened with addresses by Abhijith Shankar and Vincent Raj, followed by an awareness and empowerment session conducted by Minku Buttar and Rtn. Vimukhta. The program concluded with a highly engaging 90-minute self-defence training session led by the Taekwondo team.
