A SPARKLING NEW CHAPTER- IWC BANGALORE STEPS INTO ITS 60th YEAR!

In a solemn yet spirited ceremony at the Rotary House of Friendship, the Innerwheel Club (IWC) of Bangalore ushered in a new era of leadership for 2025–26, marking a significant milestone—its 60th year of dedicated service. Originally chartered on July 14, 1966, the club now enters its diamond jubilee with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment.

District Chairman Rajani Gowda formally installed the new leadership team—President Sharmila Perumal, Secretary Archana Shailesh, and the executive committee members—collectively known as Team Solitaire. The occasion was rich with tradition, camaraderie, and a shared resolve to drive meaningful change. In her acceptance address, President Sharmila Perumal reflected on the club’s legacy and the honor of taking on a role shaped by decades of impactful leadership.

“I step into this role with deep gratitude, a strong sense of responsibility, and great enthusiasm,” she said. “As we celebrate the 60th year of our club, it is time to reflect, cherish, and honour our past presidents—each of whom has left behind a legacy of impactful projects, strong leadership, and a spirit of togetherness.” Team Solitaire would align with the year’s guiding theme—“Step Up and Lead by Example”, as set by International Innerwheel and the Association of Innerwheel Clubs in India.

District Chairman Rajani Gowda extended greetings and shared a heartfelt message from International Innerwheel President Kay Morland:

“Home is behind you, Innerwheel is around you, and the world is ahead.”

She encouraged members to embrace kindness, compassion, and responsibility in their daily lives. She also conveyed the vision of Association President Jyothi Mahipal, who called on members to “Reach Out for a Better World and Inspire for a Better World”—a theme that places outreach and inspiration at the heart of this year’s mission.

“We must act today for a better tomorrow.”

Encouraging the celebration of Indian craftsmanship, the club aims to support local talent, preserve cultural heritage, and promote sustainable livelihoods.

Earlier in the program, Immediate Past President Pavitra Reddy welcomed attendees and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support she received during her tenure.
