Kreeda Habba 2025

20th December. 2025 , has two poignant significances The VENUE : Honda Stadium Malur, The Event:
KREEDA HABBA
KREEDA HABBA a sport and athletic event, for the children of government schools in Malur is now in its 11th edition. This was started by our friend late Rtn.
Subbu whose birthday happened to be on 18th December.
The first event was held on the fields of the then just completed greenfield school, in 2015 which RCB had built in a small village Shivar Patna in Malur Taluk and this event now has grown to be held at the world class Honda stadium at Malur for the last few years.
The event was open for participation to 15 schools.
And to over 800 children. These children were transported from their various villages in and around Malur and treated to a sumptuous breakfast and later lunch. The event covered children from the first standard up to the seven standards.
The dynamic energy source behind organising this event was the TEAM LEAD, Rtn Ajnabh and team members Rtns Anju, Nishant, Dr Anil Agadi, and Eric and IPP Rtn Gowri.
Rtn Ajnabh with her meticulous planning and execution along with International Services Director Rtn. Anil with his surgical intervention at crucial points managed to pull out all stops.
The credit for end-to-end execution goes to Rtn. Anju for the food and Rtn. Eric for the sourcing of the quality school bags gifted to the children.

On Action Day 20th December The President Rtn. Sukhen, Rtns Usha. Sapna, Dr Maneesh, Nilesh, Dinesh were there on the field shoulder to shoulder with the PT masters to execute the event with precision, with stellar Rotaractors Rtrs Akila Lavanya, Samrudh, Divya, Varun, Harish, Vignesh , Nikhil ,Mohammad Rifai and Sai Narayan to assist. And the active support of RCB staff Hamsini, Ramesh, Subash, Ram and Satya.
And now comes the big shout out and thank you for all those without whom this event would not have taken place.
Rtn. Srichand Rajpal for his spontaneous lunch offer for the participants.
Rtn. Prashanth Shah for always being the first co-sponsor, for this event year on year.
Rtn. Nishant Prakash for his Magic buttons on the phone to get us multiple sponsorships for children’s school bag AND another sponsorship in
Donation for promotion of athletics totally running to 5 lakhs. Thank you Rtn. Nishant. We thank Sumadhura Developers, Disha Habitat for their generous donation. The event needed the weight of magnanimity of our own Rotarians Rtns.
Rtn Meera Shanker , Rtn Anju agadi, Rtn HS Sridhar, Rtn Sneh, Rtn. Hemant, Rtn IPP Gowri, Shraddha Trust, Rtn Vanita Singh, Rtn Gobind, Rtn. Now for the Firsts at Kreeda Habba this year 1. We have an official Logo for Kreeda Habba bringing out the spirit of the event in created by Rtn. Ajnabh.

2. Wanting to bring a special flavour into this event, realising that they were uncut diamonds in the form of promising gold medal winning athletes in the villages, the core team wanted to have a Talent Scout, who would be able to come to the event and spot Talent, which could be groomed later to become gold medallists at the national and international level .We tried hard very hard and finally we struck GOLD .
We managed to get a certified Talent Scout attached to the Rahul Dravid sports Academy, athletics division run by Mr. Satish Thangavel. Along with his two colleagues he was present the whole day evaluating performances. AND what a difference it made to the competitive spirit amongst these children, there was a sudden new surge of adrenaline, wanting to perform to impress to get selected . Mr. Thangavel has shortlisted some candidates for training intervention and we will share the progress on this. Possibly we will have another Vocational project of “Coach the Physical Trainer’ program at the schools. Below is a message received from the talent scout Mr. Sathish Thangvel “Thank you very much for the invitation and the opportunity. I am truly very happy to have been part of such a well-organized and impactful event.
I am confident that this initiative will reach across the many villages, and we will continue to take such events forward at a higher and more impactful level. It will greatly benefit the village kids and teachers and provide the children with a meaningful and memorable experience one they will carry with them forever”.He asked the team to share photographs which he said will help them thoughtfully document this effort and reflect on what we have started together. This small report for the Padukone–Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence is about shaping future initiatives, and building a stronger foundation for what we aim to do further.
Coming from an approved talent scout for the ALL INDIA ATHLETIC FOUNDATION, this feedback is a compliment to the organising prowess of TEAM Kreeda Habba and RCB.
3. We introduced a rolling trophy this year based on the best SCHOOL performance .The thrill and joy of the winning team – Government higher primary School Rayasandra was palpable and SCHOOL children pulled all us Rotarians into their winning dance, And what a feeling it was – happy and satisfying.
And now, for second poignant significance. – this winning Rolling trophy was sponsored by President Sukhen Padmanabha in memory of his late wife Bina Sukhen whose Birthday also fell on the 20th of December – the event day.
So, encapsulating two months of planning and eight hours of execution, in a few lines is the toughest job . SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR in MALUR for the 12th edition.

Raising a Toast on Christmas Eve!

The winter evening in Bangalore carried a gentle chill rare, yet welcome. The Rotary Club of Bengaluru shimmered under twinkling lights, its festive glow inviting hearts to gather. It was Christmas celebrations and the Rotarians had assembled not merely to celebrate, but to embody their chosen theme: “Be Kind This Christmas.”
As the clock struck eight, laughter and warmth filled the hall. Tables gleamed with wine glasses and slices of rich plum cake, awaiting the evening’s toast. The Club President, resplendent in festive attire, lifted his glass high. “Tonight,” he declared, “we celebrate not just Christmas, but the spirit of kindness. Let us share, care, and gift through empathy.” A chorus of clinking glasses followed, echoing goodwill across the room.
As Rotarians raised their toast, they felt a collective reminder: kindness is the truest offering.
The Christmas celebrations at RCB were true to style this year with a lot of flamboyance, cheer and participation.
Almost 25 Rtns and Anne’s practiced for over a month, turning into a full fledged RCB choir singing popular carols like Feliz navida, Jingle bells, Silent night and many more. The practice sessions were full of teamwork, great food under the leadership of Rtns Rosa and Solomon.
On the D day, the girls dressed in beautiful black dresses with green silk scarves and men in their tuxedos brought the house down with their dancing and Carol singing!! The lights, the sparkling decor, the music and the fellowship of the Rotarians coming together to celebrate Christmas is what our Club is known for! The band PRESENTENSE got everyone grooving and singing along.
The evening unfolded with gestures of kindness. Each sip of wine was cherished, each bite of cake celebrated as more than indulgence as symbols of giving and caring.
As the night deepened, a fine dinner was served. Laughter mingled with music, and the celebration drew to a close.
And so, the Rotarians of Bangalore marked Christmas, not with grandeur, but with the simple, profound joy of kindness.
Thanks to Rtns. Rosa and Solomon Paramel for anchoring this lovely program.

Wishes Do Come True – 2025

Wishes do come True was a heartfelt blanket distribution drive by donors of the Rotary Club of Bangalore, aimed at protecting vulnerable communities from cold winter nights. A total of 450 blankets were distributed to senior citizens, mental health patients, and migrant slum populations. The initiative reached Bowring Hospital, Maria Nivas (a destitute home for the aged), and the blue tent settlement in Avalahalli, JP Nagar, with support from Smile Seva Kendra (Project Smile) and Club RAC Falcon Youth. One hundred blankets were personally distributed at Bowring Hospital by Rtn. Minku and Rtn. Malavika. Youth volunteers were purposefully involved to nurture empathy, compassion, and a spirit of service in future Rotarian leaders. The project was made possible through the generous support of donors Rtns Gertrude, Nita, Mudugal, Hemanth, Vivek, Vijayarajan, and Minku.
